At our summer camps, sports and summer fun meld together for an unforgettable experience. A key part of that experience are the coaches who act as camp counselors. We’ve already met the staff at our Concord (South County), Manchester (West County), and Soccerdome (Webster Groves) locations. Now let’s meet our amazing staff in St. Charles.
Camp Director – Coach Dani Di Carlo
Coach Dani Di Carlo, aka Coach Awesome, has worked for Vetta Sports St. Charles since 2011 and started playing at Vetta when she was in high school (yes high school.) Dani’s favorite part of summer camp is building relationships with her campers. Dani started playing soccer when she was 4 years old and her favorite soccer memory is watching the Colorado Rapids win their first MLS Cup live in Toronto. Her favorite soccer player is Drew Moor. Dani loves being a mom. Her favorite family tradition is Sunday dinner. Dani’s favorite place is the world is at home with her son Graham, and if she could go anywhere on Earth it would be Ireland. The best concert she has ever attended is Backstreet Boys baby!!!
Best Advice Dani Di Carlo has been given – Never give up.
Lead Coach and CIT Director – Coach Bryant
Coach Bryant has worked for Vetta Sports St. Charles since 2015. Bryant’s favorite part of camp is getting to see the kids enjoy their summer during the field trips. Bryant started playing soccer in middle school and his favorite sports memory is making the game winning shot in basketball. Bryant is passionate about teaching.
When asked why he coaches children, Bryant says: “I like to make a difference in the lives of children.” Something no one knows about you? I play piano.
Coach Suzanne
Coach Suzanne, aka Suz or Suzanne, has worked for Vetta Sports St. Charles since 2016 and started playing at Vetta in high school. Suzanne’s favorite part of summer camp is making friends and learning new things. Suzanne started playing soccer when she was first grade and her favorite soccer memory is summer soccer tournaments. Her favorite soccer player is Megan Rapinoe. Suzanne Bell loves people and relationships. If Suzanne could go anywhere on Earth it would be Italy or Greece.
When asked why she coaches children, Suzanne says: “Working with kids is so much fun because their high energy and optimism is contagious. I also find it very important to encourage kids to be active from a young age.”
Coach Kirstin
Coach Kirstin has worked for Vetta Sports St. Charles since 2014 and started playing at Vetta as a child. Kirstin’s favorite part of summer camp is spending time with the campers. Kirstin started playing soccer when she was 3 years old and her favorite soccer memory includes scoring the winning goal to move onto the next round in the postseason for the first time in my college history. Kirstin loves soccer. Her favorite family tradition is going to look at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve. If Kirstin could go anywhere on Earth it would be Sweden.
When asked why she coaches children, Kirstin says: “See the kids with smiles on their faces everyday and them excited to come back and see you each day.”
Coach Rachel
Excited to welcome Coach Rachel back for another summer of camp, she has worked for Vetta Sports St. Charles since 2013. Her favorite part of summer camp is getting to see all of the new and returning campers! Rachel started playing soccer 2013 and her favorite sports memory is playing club volleyball for 7 years with her friends! In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, anything outside, and watching Netflix. She is inspired by her Mom and is passionate about living her life to its fullest. She once drove 2 hours to watch the sun rise in Arkansas and the best mean she ever had was made by her family friend Jun. Her favorite place in the wold is wherever her family is and if she could visit anywhere it would be The Maldives or Bora Bora. Rachel can make her tongue into a 3-leaf clover, her favorite family tradition is reading the Christmas Story together on Christmas Eve, and her favorite concert is Luke Bryan.
Best advice Rachel has ever been given – Always listen to your mom. She knows what s best for you!
Coach Rowan
We are excited to welcome another long-timer back, Coach Rowan! Rowan has worked for Vetta Sports St. Charles since 2015. Rowan loves working with children and it shows, bringing fun to every camp day! In her spare time, she enjoys reading and she is passionate about education. The best meal Rowan has ever had was French Onion Soup from a french restaurant in Las Vegas. If she could visit anywhere, it would be Greece and her favorite place is the beach.
“I started working with children in order to make sure that I would want to pursue a career in education. Working with kids while playing sports, which I have dedicated many years of my own life to, just combined two of my loves into one thing.”
Coach Sara
Coach Sara has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2014 and recently joined the St. Charles team! Sara s favorite part of summer camp is Field trip days. Sara started playing soccer when she was 3rd grade and her favorite soccer memory is playing with her friends. Sara loves music, animals and, the environment. Sara’s favorite place in the world is Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and if she could go anywhere on Earth it would be Prince Edward Island.
When asked why she coaches children, Sara says: “It’s never boring.”
