Announcing Vetta Racquet Sports Pickleball League The VPL!
St. Louis Pickleballers…You’ve been asking for it. Now you have it! Come join this fun and competitive weekly doubles pickleball league on Wednesday evenings starting February 8, 2017 at Vetta Racquet Sports Concord. 6-week session for a Pickleball league where teams of 2 players (men, women or mixed) play in their skill level for a championship.
3 divisions by skill-level are arranged by 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 (skill levels may slightly change due to number of teams that sign up in each division)
6-teams playing in each division. 5 weeks of regular season, (each team play each other two times). 1 week for Playoff/Championship.
Each team will play 2 matches in one evening. Game format: 1 game to 15, win by 2 or first to 18. Switch sides at 8. Estimated 30 minutes per match. Game times are 8:30, 9:00 and 9:30pm. There is no more than a 5 minute warm up for each match. Subs are allowed within the same skill level.
Scheduled dates are 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1, 3/8, 3/15 (playoffs). All matches are at Vetta Racquet Sports – Concord.
Records and scores are kept where top 4 teams in each division play each other (1 vs. 4) and (2 vs. 3), then the winners face-off in Championship Match for top prize (medals and/or VettaSports T-Shirts). The last two teams in the division will also play in the final week, but are not eligible for top prize. Tiebreakers for playoff seeding are determined by head-to-head record, and then most points gained in all matches. Weekly standings will be announced in an email to all league members.
Cost for league play: Members: $6/week ($36), Non-members: $12/week ($72). All participants must sign a waiver/release to play in the league.
