Meet Our Summer Camp Coaches – Manchester

Vetta Sports is dedicated to giving kids in the St. Louis metro area the best summer camp programs possible and have been for over 25 years. This includes lots and lots of sports and fun activities in our state-of-the-art indoor facilities. A big part of what we offer during the summer hinges on having top-flight camp coaches. These staff members are tasked with giving your kids the time of their life and also keeping them safe. Let’s meet the fine counselors we have at our Manchester location (in Webster Groves.)

Coach Austin – Summer Camp Operations Manager & Kickaroos Director

Coach Austin Hofmeister, aka Coach Austin has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2015. Coach Austin doesn’t have a favorite summer camp activity: he loves them all! He started playing soccer 2015 and his favorite soccer memory includes scoring his first goal. Austin is inspired by Robin Williams and the craziest thing he has ever done is take a 30-foot jump onto a couch. In his spare time, Austin plays video games. He has a degree in elementary education and is passionate about working with kids. Austin’s favorite place in the world is home, but if he could visit anywhere else in the world, it would be Japan. His favorite family tradition is dinner and his secret talent is rollerblading.

Best advice Austin has been given – If you ain’t laughing, you ain’t living.

Coach Alice Fontana – Summer Camp Admin & Instructional Soccer League Director

Coach Alice has worked for Vetta Sports Soccerdome since 2013 and we are thrilled to have her join our Manchester team! Alice started playing soccer in 1st grade and she hasn’t stopped. Some of her favorite soccer memories include: Qualifying and competing in the NCAA division III women’s soccer tournament 3 out of my 4 years of college and my college team s soccer trip to England are memories that definitely top the list.

Soccer is definitely Alice’s passion, she’s been playing since she was 7 years old and played through college. Outside of coaching at Vetta, she enjoys coaching her 2005 girls Lou Fusz team and playing in several adult leagues at Vetta. When asked who her favorite soccer player was, Alice says: I am a die-hard USWNT fan. It s fun to follow all of those players, but Megan Rapinoe is my favorite. I love her play-making ability and creativity on the pitch. Off the field, she exudes positivity and seems to have such a fun personality. Tobin Heath, Lauren Holiday, and Ali Krieger are up there as well.

When asked why she coaches children, Alice says: “There is something so special about getting to pass your love of the game onto the next generation.”

Coach Anthony B.

Coach Anthony has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2016. He has played soccer at Vetta since he was seven years old. His favorite soccer memory is winning districts his sophomore year. Anthony enjoys hanging with friends, playing soccer, and exercising in his spare time. His favorite place in the world is Cancun, Mexico, and his favorite family tradition is going to Mexico every year for Christmas. If he could visit anywhere in the world it would be Madrid, Spain. The best concert he ever attended was Super Jam 201$

Best advice Anthony has been given – Never make the same mistake twice.

Coach Anthony W.

Coach Anthony, aka Mr. Washington, has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2016. Anthony s favorite part of summer camp is hanging out with the campers and playing games. His favorite soccer player is Sergio Ramos because he says Ramos is the greatest defender of his time and he is plays for Real Madrid. Anthony enjoys working out, walking his dog, playing video games, and chilling with friends in his spare time. Anthony enjoys working with kids, because kids are easily entertained and I want to be someone they look up to.

Best advice Anthony has been given – you miss 100% of the shots you don t take.

Coach Atri

Coach Atri has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2015 and started playing at Vetta in high school. Atri’s favorite part of summer camp is spending time with all the smiling kids! Atri started playing soccer in 9th grade and his favorite soccer memory is beating a rival high school team in penalties to win the game. His favorite soccer player is Radja Nainggolan because he is an amazing all-rounded player who has a big impact on his team. Atri is passionate about soccer, food, and working hard towards a bright future. If Atri could go anywhere on Earth it would be the Galapagos Islands. When asked why he coaches children, Atri says: “I started working with children because it feels great to make a positive impact on their days.” Something no one knows about Atri is he’s good at creating ceramic pieces on a ceramics wheel.

Best Advice Atri has been given – To pass on good advice when you get it because it is useless when kept to yourself.

Coach Cameron “Cami”

Coach Cameron, aka Cami has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2016. Her favorite part of summer camp is going on field trips with the kids! She started playing soccer 2016 and even played in a coed at Vetta! Cami’s favorite sports memory includes getting 2nd in state with her cheer team. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family. She’s inspired by her sister, Alex, and Cami is passionate about Cheer! The best meal Cami has ever had was Bravo, and can whistle through her teeth. One of her favorite family traditions is going to the cathedral in downtown St. Louis for Easter. If she could visit anywhere in the world it would be Fiji. The best concert ever attended was Chance The Rapper.

She loves kids and their creativity and energy!

Coach David

Coach David, aka Bones, started working for Vetta Sports Manchester in 2017. He started playing soccer when he was 4 years old and his favorite soccer memory is saving the goal and winning state. Coach David is inspired by his dad and is passionate about art. One of David s secret talents is sign language!

Best Advice David has been given – Buy Low, Sell High.

Coach Jacob K.

Coach Jacob, aka Kirch, has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2016 and started playing at Vetta in high school. Jacob started playing soccer when he was 3 years old and his favorite soccer memory is scoring my first high school goal. His favorite soccer player is Zlatan Ibrahimovich because he can do it all and his presence is felt on the field. Jacob loves soccer. Jacob’s favorite place is The Lou (St. Louis), and if he could go anywhere on Earth it would be Ireland. When asked why he coaches children, Jacob says: “It’s fun and I really enjoy it.”

Best Advice Jacob has been given – Don’t Quit.

Coach Jake

Coach Jacob, aka Jake from State Farm (not really), has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2016 and started playing at Vetta in a rec league in high school. Jacob started playing soccer when he was 3 years old and his favorite soccer memory is scoring the winning goal. His favorite soccer player is Lionel Messi. Jacob loves helping others. His favorite family tradition is opening Christmas presents together. Jacob’s favorite place in the world is the Grand Caynon, and if he could go anywhere on Earth it would be Barcelona. When asked why he coaches children, Jacob says: “Because I enjoy helping others.” Something no one knows about Jacob is he sucks at taking pictures.

Best Advice Jacob has been given – Don t be afraid to be yourself.

Coach Kelly

Coach Kelly has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2017 and started playing at Vetta in 1st grade. Kelly’s favorite part of summer camp is playing games with the campers. Kelly started playing soccer when she was five years old and her favorite soccer memory is when her select team and advanced onto regionals. Her favorite soccer player is Mia Hamm, because she inspired Kelly throughout the years. Kelly loves clothes. Her favorite family tradition is going out to eat after sports events. Kelly’s favorite place in the world is St. Louis Amphitheater, and if she could go anywhere on Earth it would be Hawaii. When asked why she coaches children, Kelly says: “I love being around children and I love teaching other kids one of the greatest sports in the world!” The best concert she has ever attended is Beyoncé.

Best Advice Kelly has been given – Always stay positive.

Coach MacRyan

Coach MacRyan, aka Mac, has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2016 and started playing at Vetta when he was in Kickaroos, Youth Leagues and High School Leagues! MacRyan’s favorite part of summer camp is the campers! MacRyan started playing soccer 15 years ago and his favorite sports memory is watching the cardinals win the 2011 World Series. His favorite soccer player is Peter Crouch because he’s tall like me. MacRyan also loves golf, soccer and socks. He even recommended us the new golf simulator you can buy at the local store or here.

His favorite family tradition is cutting down their own Christmas tree every Christmas. MacRyan’s favorite place in the world is Zion National Park, and if he could go anywhere on Earth it would be Ireland. When asked why he coaches children, MacRyan Biever says: “I started coaching because I love soccer and I love people and when I coach, I get to interact with both!” The best concert he has ever attended is OneRepublic. Something no one knows about MacRyan is he can’t snap.

Best Advice MacRyan has been given – Life is like riding a bike, in order to keep your balance you must keep moving forward.

Coach Mackenzie

Coach Mackenzie, aka Mac, has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2014. Mackenzie started playing at Vetta when she was 10 years old! Mac’s favorite part of summer camp is seeing familiar faces while meeting new kids at the same time and teaching sports to young children. She started playing soccer in 2014 and her favorite soccer memory includes winning conference with my college team. Mackenzie loves outdoor activities and sports. Her favorite family tradition is opening one gift on Christmas Eve and her favorite place in the world is her bed. When asked why she coaches children, Mackenzie says: “I love seeing the smile on kids faces when they’re genuinely having a good time and being able to put a smile on their face makes me happy.” The best concert she has attended is Adele.

Best advice Mackenzie has been given – “Play every game like it’s your last.”

Coach Michael

Coach Michael, aka Snacks, has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2016 and has participated in Kickaroos, High School League, and Co-Ed soccer all at Vetta. Michael’s favorite part of summer camp is the Dodgeball Tournament. Michael started playing soccer when he was 5 years old and his favorite soccer memory is scoring a hat-trick vs Oakville. His favorite soccer player is Didier Drogba because he showed up in the big games. Michael loves The New York Giants. If Michael could go anywhere on Earth it would be London, England.

When asked why he coaches children, Michael says: “I started working with children because I wanted to have a positive impact on their lives.”

Coach Sara

Coach Sara has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2014 and splits her time between a few facilities! Sara Chapman’s favorite part of summer camp is Field trip days. Sara started playing soccer when she was 3rd grade and her favorite soccer memory is playing with her friends. Sara loves music, animals and, the environment. Sara’s favorite place in the world is Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and if she could go anywhere on Earth it would be Prince Edward Island.

When asked why she coaches children, Sara says: “It’s never boring.”

Coach Savannah

We are excited to welcome Savannah, aka Sav, back to Vetta Sports Manchester this summer. Savannah started with Vetta Sports in 2016 and has been playing at Vetta since 2014. She started coaching because she says, “Children are so fun to be around! I knew that when I started working with kids I would enjoy my job!” Savannah’s favorite part of summer camp is “Hanging out and playing games with the campers!” Savannah started playing at the age of 4 and her favorite sports memory includes joining new teams (Missouri Baptist University!) In Savannah Harris’s spare time, she enjoys DIY Crafts and shopping! Savannah is passionate about helping people become healthy and physically fit!

Best Advice Savannah has been given – It’s going to be hard. If it was easy, everyone would be able to do it.

Coach Seth

Coach Seth has worked for Vetta Sports Manchester since 2017 and started playing at Vetta when he was 5 years old. Seth’s favorite part of summer camp is playing sports and teaching kids. Seth started playing soccer when he was 3 years old and his favorite soccer memory is scoring a game winner in the last minute. His favorite soccer player is Lionel Messi because he is the best in the world. Seth loves soccer. Seth’s favorite place in the world is America, and if he could go anywhere on Earth it would be Barcelona. When asked why he coaches children, Seth says: “because I enjoy making kids happy.” Something no one knows about Seth is he is a teddy bear technician and a drying paint watcher.

Best Advice Seth has been given – make the most of your moments as a child.

Coach Taylor

Taylor started with Vetta Sports back in 2015 and has played competitive soccer since she was young and still plays today. She currently plays college soccer at Fontbonne University. Her favorite soccer memory includes “Playing in the college soccer conference championship 2 years in a row (hopefully for a third!)”

Taylor’s favorite part of summer camp is “spending each day playing fun games with all the awesome campers.” In Taylor’s spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Taylor is passionate about education and her career after graduation. She is looking forward to helping children with her degree in social work.

When asked why she coaches children, Taylor says: “I started coaching soccer because I ve grown up playing the sport. Being able to help kids who share the same love for the game as I do makes coaching that much more enjoyable.”
